1Health is live in BETA in the UAE: twelve months from family idea to admin back-office, discovery UX, brand system in product, and provider listing tiers.

Start with why patients search in fragments

Finding care in the UAE still meant clinic websites, insurance portals, and word-of-mouth. 1Health began as a family conversation about putting search, compare, and book in one place.

One place to find a specialist, preventive care, or longevity services. We chose the UAE first. Regulators are pushing healthcare digitalization. Private and out-of-pocket spend is high. Patients who can afford preventive care already shop before they book. That made it the right place to build and test before taking the product elsewhere.

Patients and providers make high-stakes care decisions on the platform. We aimed for clarity and compliance without feeling cold or overly consumer-friendly. The logo had to read trustworthy before anyone opened the app. We kept it legible at favicon scale and calm at hero scale.

Building the operating system

Patient screens were half the job. We also built how the company runs: weekly roadmap reviews tied to what patients search for and what providers list, delivery tooling, and an admin back-office for accounts, security, content, profiles, and listings. Provider tiers were the revenue model from day one.

I built financial projections with explicit assumptions: what we knew, what we assumed, what would falsify each line. Pitch narrative and deck moved in parallel with the product so the story on slides matched what was in the build.

Ship discovery and the design system together

Most of the application scaffolding came through AI-assisted coding: agentic AI for routing and early UI, with me owning sign-in, bookings, admin security, and every patient-facing flow that touches trust. The homepage has one job above the fold: find care. Search with autocomplete, insurance chips, and location set context. Partial terms surface structured suggestions; tabs split professionals, clinics, and services while keeping the query.

Teal anchors primary actions. Typography, chip patterns, and card radius were extracted from the live BETA as the design system matured. Logo usage on light backgrounds, profile cards with credentials, and the discovery homepage share the same patterns documented from the shipping product so pitch and provider onboarding stay aligned.

Find care before you sign in

Patients can search with autocomplete and insurance context without creating an account first. Discovery homepage and search stay aligned with the teal accent and card patterns shipping in BETA.

Profiles, sign-in, and patient flows

Shared profile templates for professionals and clinics carry enough to decide before contact: credentials, services, location, reviews. Email and social sign-in stay light so favourites and bookings do not block browsing. Signed-in patients get a health hub, account settings, saved providers, and a bookings list. Separate pricing paths for clinics and professionals keep patient search clean while providers get a clear listing route.

Decide before contact

Professional and clinic profiles carry enough credentials and services to choose before reaching out. Sign-in stays light so favourites and bookings do not block browsing.

Launch, monetize, and learn

After twelve months, discovery, favourites, bookings, and separate clinic and professional onboarding paths are live in BETA on web and mobile web. We are widening the release in summer 2026 as more clinics and professionals list.

Provider conversations test the model qualitatively: who lists first, what tier fits which practice size, what proof we need before scaling ads. We paired pitch slides with live screens and stayed with qualitative proof until revenue numbers existed. The monetization story is provider-side listings and tiers, aligned with what is live today.

Early clinics and patients push the product hard. That loop hardens discovery, profiles, and booking flows here before we take the same product to other markets. Build where people use it, then take what you learned to the next market.

Listing paths that match how providers sell

Clinics and solo professionals each get a listing path that fits how they practice, so patient search stays clean while providers know what they are buying.
